Faithful

Loyal
1. Faithful Remaining faithful to a country, person, ruler, government, or ideal
2. Expressing loyalty Expressing or relating to loyalty

While I was still reviewing for my board exam months ago, our lecturer (Mr. Edmond Sultan) kept on emphasizing the difference of faithfulness and loyalty in a relationship.

He stressed that both individuals MUST be faithful to his/her partner. A person who is loyal doesn't always mean that he/she instantly acquires the crown of being faithful, but a person who personifies faithfulness carry over the true meaning of loyalty as well. Being loyal is loving a person whole-heartedly with possibilities of getting involved with somebody else for some reason. It’s like giving your heart to your partner but still... you think of somebody else. This isn't always the case, but I've met people who believe that they are loyal but still longs for somebody else's attention... or worst, --somebody else's love. Conversely, faithfulness is having the "faith" in the relationship that you have with the person you love at all times. You stand by your "faith" staying in love, and you take pleasure in it. You become passionate with the "thing" you have with your partner. You are contented. For me, loyalty and faithfulness must come hand in hand. I don't really condemn people who exercise loyal-but-not-faithful kind of act because there are certain reasons that He wants us to realize... and in time, learn from those things. Sometimes, people have to undergo such experience in order to grow as a person. People commit mistakes but I believe that people change. It's just a matter of choice. We all have the power to choose... we just have to dig in choosing the right one. goodluck to all. *winks*
